Celebrations seem to create opportunities for fun, amusement, entertainment and recreation which help reduce stress, tensions, anxieties, and other factors that negatively affect morale, participation, or engagement. Celebration is good for health as the gratitude that wells up has been studied scientifically having health benefits. Just few minutes of gratitude can shift the nervous system toward a calmer state.
The more one praises and celebrate life more there is in life to celebrate. It could take a while for some in knowing the dance of life where every step can be a celebration of God’s goodness, every heartbeat a rhythm of gratitude. If greater are ones knowledge of the goodness and grace of God in one’s life it is more likely the individual praises Him even when in storm.
There is no harm our voices, our services and abilities are employed primary for the glory of God. It may be known God is most glorified when we are most satisfied in Him and when we actually give Him the praise it changes our attitude and draws us close to His heart.
What then keeps many in celebrating Him and live in His goodness!
There are many ways we can celebrate what God has done whether it be through prayer, worship, serving or fellowship with other believers. Giving God the thanks He deserves, calling Him as the good God not just boasting about God but boasting in Him. Celebrating what God is doing in one’s life keeps one from comparing to other people. One is no longer jealous of somebody else's blessings and progress, instead of complaining about others, one finds the self, thanking God for them as well. Do not be ashamed to celebrate victories that may seem small to others, for only you and God know what they cost.
To realize how fruitful the coming into the world is Gurbani says “those whose tongues celebrate the Praises of the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. They come and dwell with the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy; night and day, they lovingly meditate on the Naam. Blessed is the birth of those humble beings that are attuned to the Naam; the Lord, the Architect of Destiny, bestows His Kind Mercy upon them. They are born only once — they shall not be reincarnated again. O Nanak, they are absorbed into the Blessed Vision of the Lord’s Darshan. SGGS Ang 252.
As humans we have so many capabilities and potential then why lack in celebrating God and the life God has given us. Gods work done in God’s way will never lack supplies and the celebration is best done in the company of others who can rejoice with us, over God’s goodness.
Each one celebrates his or her birthday when actually it is an anniversary to celebrate one’s togetherness with divinity. It seems quite evident more than anything let’s celebrate Him often, the one from whom we receive our nourishment and trust Him for his timings.
